Challenge

When Marriott planned their new Courtyard by Marriott hotel in the heart of San Antonio's bustling Riverwalk district, they knew the project would require exceptional logistical finesse. With limited access and two high-rise buildings on either side, the location posed significant construction challenges. To ensure the electrical systems met the demands of a modern hotel while avoiding disruption to the surrounding area, general contractor Lyda Swinerton Builders partnered with FSG for the electrical scope of work.

Solution

FSG’s San Antonio team approached the project with a full-service mindset and a sharp focus on coordination. The tight downtown site offered little room for on-site storage, so the team implemented just-in-time (JIT) material deliveries and established an off-site lay-down yard. This approach minimized congestion and allowed each trade to work efficiently, keeping the schedule intact and the site organized. FSG’s proactive project management ensured smooth collaboration across the board, with every stakeholder aligned on progress and planning.

Result

The result was a successful electrical installation completed on schedule, with minimal disruption to neighboring buildings and Riverwalk activity.
