FSG replaced a 23-year old boiler for The Township of Green Brook while helping them get an 80% utility incentive.

Challenge

The Township of Green Brook is the Emerald City in the crown jewel of Somerset County. The Township is a full-service community with excellent schools, a wide variety of housing stock and is "Small Enough to Know You, Large Enough to Get Things Done." They were interested in replacing their old 264,000 BTU boiler. This would enable them to lower their monthly energy payments while reducing the cost of maintaining their older equipment.

Solution

FSG was able to build a comprehensive energy-efficiency project for the town hall that included replacing their existing 23-year-old boiler with a new 95% more efficient model. FSG put this project through the local utility's Direct Install program which helped it qualify for an incentive.

Result

This project would have cost $31,635.00, but with the 80% incentives provided by their local utility, the customer cost was only $6,327.00 and they were able to get 0% interest and on-bill financing for this project for 5 years. This project will save the Township about $1,388.97 annually and will be paid back in 4.6 years.
