FSG Installs Emergency Power Generators for Dallas-Area ExxonMobil Data Center

Challenge

Data centers require a backup power system that is integrated directly into the power infrastructure to ensure that critical systems stay online even if the lights go out. This fact was of primary importance to ExxonMobil during a facility expansion and upgrade project at their Dallas-area location. General contractor Harvey Builders turned to FSG's Dallas branch to complete the sensitive and high-priority, $5,900,000.00 electrical work scope for ExxonMobil's Phase 2 expansion project. A key component of the project for FSG involved the installation of a 1,750 kW emergency generator set.

Solution

Prior to the installation of the new emergency generator, FSG supervised the creation of the pad site to the required specifications, with an underground conduit fed through the pad to align properly with the new generator. With the pad complete, FSG supervised the placement of the genset onto the pad and began the process of installing all feed lines and connections between the generators, the emergency switchgear, and the associated load banks.

Result

FSG executed the work scope flawlessly, providing for the installation of the emergency power generator, along with all associated connections, testing, extensive commissioning, and final system hand-off to the customer.
